B4 Consulting launches new mobility app for construction firms

Construction industry consulting specialists B4 Consulting has just launched a new “Mobility for Construction” app for general contractors, self-perform and specialty trade firms.

The new app, available on both iOS and Android, is designed to help site foremen and superintendents track, monitor, report and record worker and equipment utilization in real-time. The app is able to be integrated with multiple software platforms including the SAP HANA cloud platform and SAP Mobile Platform, and comes with the ability to connect to other data sources and apps, with features including embedded weather tracking, geo-spatial functionality and signature capabilities.

B4 Constulting said the app is ideal for construction companies as it can be used by a variety of construction workers. For example, foremen can use the app to keep track of their workers performance and time-keeping, and to track overall project progress. Meanwhile, project engineers can use the app to record project progress, billing and more.

Being cloud-based, the app afford easy adoption and affordability, creating true end-to-end business integration, allowing for real-time collaboration with partners and suppliers.

Some of the app's features include monitoring labor and equipment allocation; recording materials installed and pay quantities; comparing actualy time, materials and equipment usage hours to estimates; registering equipment usage via a telematics feed; capturing employee's and equipment location with geo-spatial functionality; and viewing performance against budget plans.

Klaus Schottenhamel, president and CEO of B4 Consulting, said that his firm works with a number of North America's biggest construction and engineering firms, giving it insights ito exactly what the industry needs from a mobile app.

B4 Consulting's Mobility for Construction app is priced at $10 per month, per user, and can be downloaded directly from B4 Consulting's website, or via the SAP Store.
