ROCKVILLE, MD —February 9, 2017 – Rory S. Coakley Realty, Inc. (Coakley Realty) is pleased to announce that it has added two new agents to its leading team of real estate industry experts. David Hess and Thomas (Tom) Elie both bring deep roots in the local community and larger Washington, DC metropolitan area, as well as passion for the real estate industry to their new positions with Coakley Realty.
A long-time resident of Montgomery County, David Hess grew up in the area, with family ties in the local construction industry. David is reentering the real estate industry after about 10 years away, to focus in his new role in residential sales in the Potomac and Silver Spring areas, and other areas on the eastern side of Montgomery County.

Tom Elie, also a long-time Montgomery County resident, brings an in-depth understanding of the way the area has grown and evolved in recent years that will be a helpful addition to his career in real estate. Just entering the field after a long career in technology, primarily at Verizon, Tom is focused on leveraging his technological capability to drive new opportunity in the real estate space, and position him as a local expert and touchpoint. Tom is particularly interested in helping newcomers to the transient DC area to navigate the region and share his expertise and real-life experience to help them find just what they are looking for in a property. In his new role, Tom will be working with a range of clients, from first-time buyers to those looking to just down-size.
“With my background in technology, I bring an in-depth understanding of how technology, particularly in websites and mobile apps, like Zillow, can be used to take advantage of people’s attention in a short time to make a big, lasting impact,” Tom Elie said. “I am excited to enter the real estate space and look forward to adding to Coakley Realty’s expertise.”
David Hess is a graduate of Ohio University with a BS in Communication, and earned his JD from The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. Tom Elie received his BS in Business, Finance, and Economics from Towson University and has completed an advanced training course at Johns Hopkins University in the area of Information Systems Architecture, Systems Analysis and Human Factors, and Telecommunications Systems Architecture.
