HousesforSale.com offers unique, ‘crowdsourced SEO’ for real estate listings

HousesforSale.com has had a big impact since launching its proof of concept website earlier this year. The site now ranks on page two of Bing’s search engine results, boasting 1.5 million listings.

What HousesforSale.com does is to offer users all-round exclusivity, said CEO and founder John Brown in an interview with Real Estate Tech News. Instead of spending thousands of dollars trying to compete with other agents on sites like Zillow or Realtor.com, HousesforSale.com allows real estate agents to reserve ZIP codes and leverage the company’s “crowdsourced SEO”.

It works like this: Agents reserve a ZIP code on HousesforSale.com for just $5 to $35, depending on the location, then the site throws its entire SEO weight behind individual, hyper-localized areas so the agent benefits. The service initially costs real estate agents only $5. After an agent successfully lands a lead, the agent is billed the zip code’s original purchase price per month.

The key to success is HousesforSale.com’s concept of crowdsourced SEO, which leverages the entire site’s combined SEO value to rank individual locations higher than they could ever achieve alone. According to Brown: “When you post using our patent-pending tech, you create SEO. It helps the guy in Miami, the guy in New York, the guy in North Dakota. It helps everyone in the country. It’s a very unique concept in real estate and it allows us to compete with the major players.”

Agents no longer need to maintain individual websites, Brown says, as HousesforSale.com pulls listings from 650 MLS’s and brokerages and displays them on its site. Agents can create their own pages on the site, with original content like blog posts, videos and more, link to ZIP code areas they’ve purchases, and share reviews. In addition, the agent share button allows clients to promote listings on social media with just two clicks. Real estate agents currently using HousesforSale.com appreciate the portal’s easy setup, intuitive user interface, and personal tailoring.
