RE/MAX enters the Apple Watch bandwagon

By Violeta-Loredana Pascal | September 23, 2015

We cannot stop technology, we can only try to put it to good use, we may say. When we talk about Apple, we usually talk about successful products, that can be used in a wide area of industries, including in the real estate one. And, let’s face it, it’s very easy to have it all (or almost all) at our wrists, through a smartwatch.

Perhaps this was a Sci-Fi idea a decade ago (or even less), but it’s a reality now, and companies from various domains enter the Apple Watch bandwagon. RE/MAX recently launched a consumer app for this smartwatch aiming to provide location-based search capabilities with scrollable for-sale listing details and agent contact links, thus making it easy for buyers to find the relevant information and listings.

Creating an app for the latest Apple innovation is just another demonstration that RE/MAX is on the leading edge of real estate technology advancements," said Tim Drouillard, Senior Vice President, Information Technology at RE/MAX, LLC in the official press release. "Our goal has always been to provide the most reliable information, in the most convenient formats for the largest number of consumers."

The launch of this app is another step the global franchisor of real estate brokerage services does as part of its technology initiative which includes the redesign of the official website, various typs of content created for the internet that was also compatible with mobile devices. The company aims to offer the consumers easy access to relevant real estate data, while also allowing real estate agents to have access to high tech tools that will allow them to differentiate in a very competitive business environment.

Though it is obvious that this is a tool focused on helping buyers and agents, it is an useful one, and I am sure the results will be visible in time.

RE/MAX joins other companies in the real estate domain that launched apps for the Apple Watch. Among the first to do so was realestate.com.au, while Homesnap’s app was also available when the watch was launched.
