Speciality Contractor Gives Building Restoration Tips for Summer Storms

By Allison Halliday | June 27, 2013

American Restoration is a leading specialist contractor and believes property owners should be prepared to deal with an active summer storm season that is being predicted for this year. In addition, property developers and construction companies may also hire a construction stormwater compliance contractor to ensure that there are adequate stormwater facilities in the site.

Many property owners in the Midwest have already experienced debilitating storms, and American Restoration’s catastrophic restoration services (ARI CAT) provides a complete line of emergency response services with 24-36 hour response, damage mitigation, debris removal, and demolition and photographic support for insurance claims. Once a remediation plan is in place ARI can provide building reconstruction services.

The company does empathize with the people of Oklahoma who are struggling to deal with the loss of life and destruction of personal property, and with the arduous recovery process. American Restoration also points out the Commercial Property Managers are faced with the task of protecting their tenants, securing valuable assets and minimizing the interruptions to revenue stream.

Property management teams often have an Emergency Action Plan that takes into account prevention, emergency response, evacuation criteria, disaster recovery and key personnel. With this year's summer storm season predicted to be active, American Restoration is recommending that property owners carry out a few simple checks. These include revisiting and updating any emergency action plan, and reviewing insurance policies to make sure wind and flood coverage is adequate. Roofing and flashing should be inspected by a roofing services contractor to make sure they are secure, including any antenna and signs. Nearby trees and shrubbery should be trimmed to take into account safety rather than just aesthetics. They also recommend checking the surrounding area to the property for any loose debris, for example from any nearby construction work, and making sure any items such as supplies and tools or trash are properly secured.

American Restoration has pointed out that the property owner's response to an emergency is critical to the success of recovery. The company has been in business for over 25 years and the clients have utilized ARI's impressive experience in waterproofing, and garage and exterior repair. ARI has the financial resources and the expertise to bring the buildings back to their original specifications. More information can be found on their website.
