Air Canada Announces New Flight to Red Deer, Alberta



Air Canada recently announced a new service will begin to the city of Red Deer in Alberta. From 3 September this year there will be three daily flights departing to and from Red Deer to Calgary. This will not only provide a direct connection between Calgary and Red Deer, but will also establish immediate ticketed access to a number of other international hubs.

Residential Real Estate Sales in Vancouver Hit Lowest Level Since 2001



According to figures from the Real Estate Board of Metro Vancouver, the number of home sales in Vancouver has fallen to its lowest level since 2001. In April, sales in Metro Vancouver reached 2,799, which is 13.2% lower than April last year when sales reached 3,225.

Real Estate Sales in Alberta, Canada To See Biggest Gains over Next Two Years



According to a report from the Canadian Real Estate Association, Alberta will show the biggest year-on-year increase in home sales over the next couple of years. The CREA is predicting MLS sales will increase by 6.8% this year to reach 57,400, and by a further 1.7% next year to 58,400.

Canadian Real Estate Investment Way Up



In news from Canada, the real estate market there saw a 48 percent increase in commercial investment volume in 2010, to the tune of $18.9 billion. The increase was sparked by a stronger economy and “surging investor confidence,” according to CB Richard Ellis. Toronto ended 2010 with $7.4 billion in trades, up almost 4 billion, from $3.8 billion in 2009, according to the 2010 National Investment Report released yesterday by the CBRE.
