With the Christmas season upon us all, it’s always nice to hear of professionals in our industry helping the less than fortunate. With so many people out of work, news of Zephyr Real Estate’s drive to help Food and Toy drives in San Francisco, comes just in the nick of time. The San Francisco Firefighters Toy Program and the San Francisco Food Bank, receive donations from local contributors, and Zephyr offices are being set up as collection points.
For those who do not know, the SF Firefighters Toy Program gave away some 40,000 toys last year to over 25,000 deserving kids. The organization is dependent wholly on donations by people and businesses that care. San Francisco’s largest such organization, these super people have been helping make Christmas better for kids since way back in 1949. Each year, the Firefighters distribute, overall, nearly a quarter of a million toys.
Then there’s the San Francisco Food Bank, an organization that aims to raise some 200,000 pounds of food for the needy this season. The food will be distributed to over 36,000 households during the holidays, yet another humane effort of almost staggering proportions. Zephyr and other local businesses ask that people help deliver the most needed foods; tuna and canned meats, cereal, peanut butter, beans, rice, pasta, soups and stews, 100 percent fruit juices, and canned fruits and vegetables for those who are underprivaledged. CEO of Zephyr, Randall Kostick, has this to add about the agency’s part in the drive:
“When you donate toys and food to those in need, you offer a spark of hope and a bit of encouragement to children and families. We can all help create a better world by participating in these worthwhile endeavors.”
Founded back in the late 70’s, Zephyr Real Estate is San Francisco’s largest. The company generated sales in excess of $1 billion in 2010. The firm has some 200 full time real estate agents working, and has won many awards over the years. If you check out their website, you will find something else a cut above most real estate landings, their website is an award winner too.
