If you've never visited the land of the ancient Minoans, Crete will astound those of you who revel in friendly places. Before the Sochi Olympics mainstream media in the west went on a tyrade, telling us of the gloom and doom that would follow the games. Interestingly, the only disaster of Sochi turned out to be the tilted reports of stray dogs and Russian mobsters. Trust me, I know a lot about what is really in Sochi, versus rumors of international detente battles. Despite all rumors to the contrary, Dubai continues to boom. The most populous city in the United Arab Emirates, a veritable oasis paradise, Dubai is a living, breathing work of architectural art.
