Mickey Lopez Joins Kurz Real Estate as Director of the Commercial Division

Former Major Leaguer, Mickey Lopez is to join Kurz Real Estate as director of commercial real estate. The baseball player who was second baseman for the San Francisco Giants, Florida Marlins, Chicago Cubs and Seattle Mariners has more than 12 years of experience in commercial and residential real estate.

Speaking about his appointment Lopez said “I’m most excited about joining an office with so much energy and innovative thinking. Kurz Real Estate’s mechanism is first of its kind in the industry, and I’m honored to play a key part in the company’s expansion into the commercial real estate sector. I’m confident my knowledge and experience will be an asset to the company.”

Before selling real estate, Lopez was a professional baseball player for 11 years, reaching the Major Leagues in 2004 with the Seattle Mariners. Afterward, he began his career in real estate at Southeast Properties where he remained until 2013. Lopez then went on to join RE/MAX Advance Realty until accepting the offer to join the enthusiastic and growing Kurz family. Since its launch in August last year, Kurz Real Estate has more than 70 agents.

Lopez was raised in Miami and is a high school graduate of Westminster Christian School. He completed his bachelor’s degree in sports management at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. As the director of commercial real estate, Lopez will help companies and small businesses with their commercial real estate transactions throughout the greater Miami and Fort Lauderdale areas.

David Kurz, founder of Kurz Real Estate said “The whole idea of Kurz Real Estate is to present entrepreneurship to both young and seasoned professionals through the powerful foundation of teamwork, among others. I’m thrilled to bring Mickey on board. Stemming from his days in the major leagues, I know he is the perfect candidate to emphasize creativity and working together. Coming from a Marine Corps background myself, the ‘team’ mentality is a familiar tool, and I know together we will continue to build Kurz Real Estate into the most successful real estate firm in South Florida.”
