GM Real Estate and Jones Lang LaSalle have been appointed letting agent by Brookfield Office Properties and Oxford Properties for the London Wall Place development. Two buildings totalling 500,000 square feet will be developed on the 1.8-acre site that has a 200 meter footage on London Wall to the West of Moorgate, EC2. This is the first major letting role for GM Real Estate after having ex-CBRE Dan Roberts and ex-Jones Lang LaSalle Sam Boreham, two of London’s most famous leasing agents, join the firm last summer..

Brookfield Office Properties and Oxford, the real estate branch of OMERS Worldwide group, acquired an option on this development in July 2012 from the City of London Corporation, and replaced previous developer Hammerson, while the City retiains the freehold.

The plans for the London Wall project include a 12-storey, 300,000 sq foot office building, 1 London Wall Place, with floor plates ranging from 9,000 sq ft to 40,000 sq ft and a second one, 2 London Wall Place, designed to be a 16-storey, 200,000 sq foot tower with floor plates of 12,000 sq ft. Landscaped gardens around the Roman ruins of London Wall and the original St Alphage Church are also included in the development plans.

“The appointments of Jones Lang LaSalle and GM Real Estate are a clear statement of intent to secure high-quality tenants for what will be one of the foremost developments in the City of London,” said BPO UK head of leasing Martin Wallace. “At Brookfield, we have shown a commitment to providing tenants with efficient office space in prime locations, with a high level of activated public space. London Wall Place is another fantastic example of this and we are very much looking forward to beginning work on the development with our partners Oxford Properties.”
