The legendary Argentinean architect César Pelli has just snapped up a luxuy $17.5 million San Remo apartment, according to reports.

Pelli and his wife Diana Balmori reportedly bought the 12-room, 4,900 Sq. Ft. property from one Rona Maurer, the mother-in-law of John Leguizamo, who was recently sued for allegedly covering up her home's sale in order to prevent her stepdaughter from seeing any of the proceeds.
Leaving aside the legalities of the sale, Pelli and his wife will surely be delighted with their new home, which has all the luxuries one could hope for. This includes stunning views of Central Park, herringbone floors, sky-high ceilings, a marble entry gallery and no less than three entertainment rooms, 6sqft.com reported.
The website says the outfittings of the apartment are “slightly garish” at present, but given Pelli's expertise it's unlikely to stay that way for long. The property certainly has potential, what with the centerpiece being a 34x21 foot corner living room boasting a hand-carved fireplace and five casement windows. Adjacent to this living room is a 27x18 foot dining room, a library, a windowed kitchen and a separate laundry room. As for the master suite, this comes with a separate dressing room, walk in closet and a spa-style, ensuite bathroom. The property also comes with four additional bedrooms, each with ensuite bathrooms.
Pelli's architectural firm, Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects, is notable for designing the World Financial Center, Yale-NUS College, the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County, and the Minneapolis Central Library, among other prestigious buildings in the U.S.
