HomeMe takes the stress out of renting by pre-approving applications

A new solution for pre-approving renters has just hit the app store. Called HomeMe, the app brings a unique approach to renting a home that cuts out on the disappointment of finding an ideal property only to later learn you don't qualify to rent it.

HomeMe works by pre-approving renters before they even begin their search, and only showing them available properties they qualify for, saving them lots of time and potential heartache. Free to use, HomeMe also claims to save renters money on the costs associated with applying to rent a home, background checks and subscription fees.

“HomeMe is making the rental process faster and convenient for renters and apartment management companies by allowing renters to easily browse listings, book appointments and reserve an apartment that they’re approved to rent from their mobile phone,” says Mark Douglas, President and CEO. “We’ve equipped the app with a real-time database of available apartments that will only include pre-approved listings for renters.”

Renters need only provide the bare minimum of details to pre-qualify for an apartment. The app approves potential renters by verifying their annual income and checking this against their credit score, rental history and background. HomeMe then takes this information and finds suitable properties the user is qualified to rent.

“The idea was to simplify the rental process and empower renters to focus more on the apartment rather than the application,” says Lindsey Holland, Vice President of Client Services. “This also benefits apartment management companies by only matching them with qualified renters, making it an easier and faster process for both parties.”

To begin with, HomeMe is only available to users in Houston, however the cities of Austin and Dallas are set to follow soon, ahead of a nationwide launch later in the year. Available on the iPhone now, an Android version of the app is set to be launched next month.
