Founded by Gary Keller back in 1983, Keller Williams is a technology and real estate franchise with more than 1,100 offices and 200,000 associates worldwide. The firm grew from a single office operation to become one of the world’s most respected and highest-rated real estate companies in the world. Voted one of the World’s Most Innovative Companies by Fast Company back in 2019, Keller Williams formed KWx back in 2020. This integrated home experience company is composed of Keller Williams, Keller Williams Worldwide, and Keller Home Financial Services, consisting of Keller Mortgage, Keller Offers, Keller Covered, Keller Title, and The Partnership Program.

Headed by Executive Chairman of the Board Gary Keller, and CEO Carl Liebert, KWx is expanding on the early work KW did to transform the company into the leading real estate technology innovator in the industry. Back in 2015, KW started this evolution by building a real estate platform that agents’ buyers, and sellers prefer.

In the End of Year Report for 2021, KWx CEO Carl Liebert said the company had changed 1.3 million client lives in what was a record-breaking year for KW and the other subsidiary units. Liebert offered this for the report:

“In the midst of a hypercompetitive market, 2021 was absolutely a record-breaking year for us. With historically low inventory rates, finding a home has been really challenging in the last year.”

The report went on to frame transaction growth of 9.9% over the 2020 figures for the U.S. and Canada. In total, KW agents closed some $532.2 billion in sales volume, up 30.6% over 2020. New listings, contracts, and other indicators were also up worldwide.

Leadership Profiles

Now the executive chairman of the holding company KWx, Gary Keller graduated from Baylor University back in 1979 with a degree in marketing and real estate. By age 26, Gary was the VP of expansion for Austin, Texas’ largest real estate company at that time.

Three and a half years later, he started KW, which was and is the largest real estate company in the city. Today, Gary Keeler is focused on expanding market share and helping KW agents boost their production to fund their lives and create opportunities through technology.
