What with social media and email having become the standard way for real estate agents to communicate with their clients, it's possible to stand out from the crowd by sending the occasional handwritten note.
"A thank-you note can stand out from the seemingly dull and impersonal style of digital communications, such as emails and texts," Keller Williams Realty notes in a blog post suggesting the idea. "With mailing lists and newsletters coming at your clients from nearly every business they visit, a thank-you note is a tasteful and sincere demonstration of your gratitude."
Keller Williams reckons there are dozens of occasions where sending a handwritten note might be suitable. For example, it reckons a quick note might be the most suitable way to thank clients for listing their home with you. Also, anniversaries of the purchase of their home is another suitable occasion, as are special days like birthdays and graduations.
You might also want to write up a quick note (perhaps with a bunch of flowers) to thank previous clients for a referral. A written note might also be more appropriate for following up after a listing appointment.
if you do decided to write a note, Keller Williams advises you to keep it short and sweet. Be sure to include the date and a quick greeting that mentions the recipient's name, and then a line or two that specifically mentions your gratitude to them. And be sure to sign it off so they know who the note is from - handwritten notes don't allow for automatic signatures at the bottom!
