How to Stage a Home for Sale

Are you a seller’s agent? Or are you a best friend of someone who is looking to sell their house? Regardless of who you are, there is a proper way of effectively staging a home. Let’s take a look at some of the most effective ways to stage a home and make it into a surefire hit. If you have a home for sale in California you definitely want to stage it properly.

  1. Start with the paint – Begin the home staging process by giving the house’s walls a fresh coating of paint. Start with the living room and go for something neutral to give it a livelier look. If you are not that confident, you can hire a professional painter who can get the job done in a single day. As for your furniture, give them a fresh coating of varnish to give that renewed shine.
  • Don’t forget the darker colors – still related to the paint, apply some darker shades on the walls of the bedrooms. Darker colors will give you that more intimate and cozy vibe. In case you are not a fan of darker colors, you can try and divert the eyes’ attention to a specific space in your room. This can be plat holders or bookcases. Don’t be afraid to mix and match the colors. Experiment and unleash your creativity.
  • Rearrange your wall hangings – if you are used to hanging your paintings and other items along high lines that encircle the rooms, you better rearrange them ASAP. You need to place these paintings and pictures in areas where they can easily be seen. You need to make them visible in order for them to stand out. Vary the patterns and make your precious artwork shine.
  • Mix your accessories – you also need to learn how to mix your accessories to make your room more appealing. When displaying your accessories, it is best to arrange them in odd numbers, preferably three. Don’t just line them up since that will be boring. Instead, arrange them in a triangular manner where one object represents each of the three points. Be sure to consider scaling, as the three items should roughly be in the same height and width, as much as possible.
  • Check your garden – if you have a garden, why not put some of the fresh flowers and orchids that you have into good use? Get some fresh magnolias and some fern fronds to welcome spring. You can also go for bright and colorful flowers to warm the setup during the cold autumn. In the market for a home in Calabasas contact a trusted real estate agent today.
