If you have a real estate blog that’s powered by WordPress, you’re probably already familiar with some of the many great features and plugins available to the site administrators. Some of the plugins developed specifically for real estate websites include design options for displaying property listings and various other tools related to an MLS search.
However, if your real estate blog’s main purpose is to report local market news and post quick blurbs about you personally, there’s probably a good chance your WordPress site doesn’t include an IDX solution or extensive property search options. If this is the case, there are still quite a few nifty plugins that will build up your real estate blog and convey a lot of useful information to your readers, all without needing an IDX.
Let’s take a quick look at just a few of my favorite FREE real estate plugins available on WordPress:
1) Simple Real Estate Pack – As perhaps the most complete real estate WordPress plugin, the Simple Real Estate Pack includes a variety of real estate tools that range from mortgage calculator and closing cost estimator widgets to the ability to post Trulia and ALTOS statistical charts, as well as other important local information that includes school districts, Google Maps, and current rental and for sale median rates.
2) Local Market Explorer – Originally released by Zillow, the Local Market Explorer plugin allows real estate bloggers to post various charts and information from Education.com, yelp, Walk Score, flickr, and of course Zillow. Suppose you want to create a detailed page about a certain neighborhood or community. Well, there’s no question, the Local Market Explorer plugin is the perfect tool use to get it started!
3) Trulia Plugin – This plugin easily allows bloggers to embed a Trulia map widget on their sidebar or even add Trulia maps with property listings in your page content. In addition, users can also configure the data charts and maps with different color-schemes and various layouts to incorporate the data you choose to share on your site!
