Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties is proud to announce that Matt Clements of the Monarch Beach office has been voted 2018 president-elect of the Orange County Association of REALTORS® (OCAR).
A fourth-generation REALTOR®, Matt, 40, is the youngest board member ever elected to head the association. His grandfather, Jack Marshall, also served as president in the 1980s and ’90s.
“I am super honored to represent Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties as OCAR president-elect in 2018 and as president in 2019,” Matt said. “I feel I am honoring my grandfather, who led the association so passionately during his tenure.”
“My congratulations to Matt, who has served on the board of directors since 2015. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the association,” OCAR 2017 President Craig Borner said.
“Our board of directors demonstrates aptitude, experience and the commitment to provide strong leadership. It is gratifying that Matt took my encouragement to run for these positions, and I look forward to the opportunity of continuing to work with him in the coming year.”
In 2010, Matt founded the Orange County chapter of the Young Professionals Network, a division of the National Association of REALTORS®, building it to 500 members in about two years. Last year, he chaired the network for the California Association of REALTORS®, helping it earn the distinction of best network in North America.
“My election to president is a natural progression of what the Young Professionals Network does,” Matt said. “The network is like a bridge for young real estate agents. We share ideas on how to get better in our profession. It gives us the opportunity to serve in leadership as a young person, which accelerates us through the board of directors and on to becoming president. My grandfather would have loved it.”
Matt has been a REALTOR® since 2004 and is a proud fourth-generation real estate agent. He is CEO of The Clements Group, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties, Monarch Beach office. Reach him anytime at 949-842-8797 mobile, 949-443-2000 office, and surferrealtor@gmail.com.
