How to Come Up With Interesting Topics For Your Real Estate Blog

Starting a real estate blog can be a great way to attract new leads and stay top of mind with current clients. Are you having a hard time coming up with topics for your real estate blog? You’re not alone! A lot of professionals find it difficult to come up with fresh content on a regular basis. But don’t worry, there are plenty of ways to come up with interesting ideas. In this post, we’ll share some tips on how to generate new content ideas. So read on and get inspired to revamp your blog with fresh content!

Write About Your Favorite Neighborhoods

To get new ideas for content, try thinking about your favorite neighborhoods. Do you have a list of them? Why do you like these places? Talk about the history, the people, the culture, and what makes these places unique. You can rank the best neighborhoods, list the most affordable neighborhoods, or talk about neighborhoods with the best amenities.

Remember, the purpose of your real estate blog is to establish yourself as a local authority. Every reader can become a lead. By talking about your product in an exciting and informative way, you can make leads come to you instead of chasing them down.

Read What Everybody Else Is Talking About — Then Say The Opposite

A successful blog adds something unique and relevant to an ongoing conversation.  It’s essential to follow other real estate blogs (both from your market and outside) to get a good feel for what topics they’re covering.

A word of warning: you don’t want to simply repeat what they’re saying; you want to add to it.

For example, imagine you see five real estate blog posts covering inflation and how it will affect homebuying. Do you think readers would really want to read a sixth blog that just regurgitates the same information? Probably not.

If everyone else is talking about the same problem, it allows you to be the solution. In the example above, instead of writing about why inflation will increase home prices, you can write about how buyers can better budget for rising home prices.

Analyze Your Competition

To find ideas for your blog, look at what your competition is doing. Read their blog posts and analyze what topics they’re covering.

You can also use a tool like SEMrush and Ahrefs to see research keywords they’re targeting. This will give you an idea of the topics they think are important enough to rank in search engines. You can then prioritize topics that compete with their posts.

Even better, you can use those tools to find out which keywords your competition isn’t ranking for. Finding these opportunities lets you know which blog topics will get significant traffic without much competition.

Write the Content You’d Want to Read

Your blog should be personal and relevant to you. Don’t try to write about things you don’t care about just because you think it’ll be popular.

For example, if you’re not passionate about design trends, don’t force yourself to write a post about the latest home design trends.

As a rule of thumb, you should only write topics you’d want to read about. Imagine if you were a chef. Do you think people would be excited to come to a restaurant where the person cooking wouldn’t even eat the food?

Say Goodbye to Writers’ Block: Start Your Blog Today!

Blogging about real estate doesn’t have to be complicated. In fact, following these tips can make it easy and fun. If you’re stuck on what to write about, start by talking about your favorite neighborhoods. Read what everybody else is saying online, and then say something striking, new, or insightful. Analyze your competition and write the content you wish you could find online. These are just a few ideas to help get you started, but don’t stop there! The sky’s the limit when it comes to blogging for your real estate business. What topics will you tackle first?
