Last Friday Freddie Mac (OTCQB: FMCC) announced having taken steps to reduce the time needed for Hurricane Sandy victims to get their insurance proceeds. Those people with Freddie Mac-owned or -guaranteed mortgages will get relief faster and be able to get renovations underway more quickly too.

Yes you read that right; hurricane Irene. Even as Hurricane Sandy makes its way across the New Jersey coast, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, (HUD), is announcing the approval of a $15 million dollar emergency aid package to help repair the damage caused by Irene.
