According to the annual TD Canada Trust Condo Poll, those wishing to live in Vancouver, one of Canada's most expensive real estate markets, are choosing to buy condos. Nearly two thirds (62%) say their main reason for purchasing a condo is that it's more affordable than a house.

TREB Fights against Giving More Online Listings Information

The Toronto Real Estate Board (TREB) has launched a campaign against Canada's Competition Bureau against its plan to release more personal information online. This information would include the names and addresses of home sellers, and TREB says it is an invasion of privacy that could result in more cases of fraud.

Real Estate Sales in Alberta, Canada To See Biggest Gains over Next Two Years

According to a report from the Canadian Real Estate Association, Alberta will show the biggest year-on-year increase in home sales over the next couple of years. The CREA is predicting MLS sales will increase by 6.8% this year to reach 57,400, and by a further 1.7% next year to 58,400.
