Choosing the Right Spot for Your New Loveseat

By Jamie Richardson | June 3, 2019

Are you looking for a new loveseat for your home? The quest to find the right piece to add to your home décor is only a part of the puzzle. Even as you search for the item that appeals to you most, you need to think about where to put it and how to get it to that spot. Here are some furniture placement tips and a few delivery options to consider.

What Room Should You Put It In?

The most obvious place to put a loveseatis in the living room. However, these pieces can enhance nearly any living space. Add one to a bedroom for a place to cuddle up and read a good book or watch a movie. They’re ideal in a guest room, because they give your company a private place to relax and unwind without lying down. Place one or more in a rec room so you’ll have plenty of seating when the fun begins.

Where to Put It in Your Room

Here are a few furniture placement tips that will help you put this piece in its place.

  • Place it away from the wall.
  • Make small conversation areas in a large room.
  • Put two loveseats face to face with a cocktail table in between.
  • Arrange it and your sofa together with a fireplace or window as the central focus.

In a bedroom, these tips can help you position your new furniture for a great appearance and maximum practicality.

  • Use it as a room divider in a large bedroom.
  • Put it in a recessed corner.
  • Make it the secondary focal point of the bedroom after the bed.
  • Place it at the foot of the bed in a smaller bedroom.

You probably won’t have just one piece of furniture in your home. So, it’s important to make sure you consider your other pieces when you’re selecting the arrangement. Be sure to leave at least 22 inches between any of your larger pieces of furniture. Then, between those pieces and a cocktail table, leave at least 12 inches.

Delivery Options

Now that you know where you want to put it, how do you get your new furniture item home? A great way to do it is to look for furniture with free delivery across the USA. Beyond that, you may have several options for the level of service you want with delivery. Some furniture companies only drop off your furniture at your front door. Others offer expanded services, such as:

  • Making a delivery appointment so they can be sure you’re home and ready to accept delivery.
  • Carrying the furniture into the first area of your home.
  • Carrying your furniture into the room where you want to place it.
  • Unpacking and assembling the furniture.
  • Carrying away any resulting trash, leaving your room ready to enjoy.

Don’t always assume that furniture delivery includes all these services. In some cases, it will just be a drop and dash. In others, you may have your choice of several options. Then, once your loveseat is safely in your home and arranged the way you like it, you can sit back, relax, and enjoy your new home environment.
