By integrating CapitalShield's existing 1,000+ camera video surveillance network into the MPD's newly launched Real-Time Crime Center and pledging an additional 1,000 cameras to enable commercial property owners, institutions, and businesses to share live video footage, Kastle strengthens its commitment to ensuring the safety of Washington D.C. occupants.
The CapitalShield Program connects private sector security cameras to MPD's Real Time Crime Center for accessing during critical situations, My hope is that we can continue to expand this partnership - MPD's ability to respond improves as more businesses and institutions participate.

Kastle, a property technology and managed security company, has committed to enhance its CapitalShield video surveillance program for the Real-Time Crime Center (RTCC) of the Washington D.C. MetD.C.litan Police. This commitment includes the commitment of all existing cameras on the CapitalShield network and the donation of an additional 1,000 cameras to augment CCTV coverage throughout the District. During a joint press conference on Monday morning, Kastle Chairman Mark Ein joined Muriel Bowser, the mayor of Washington, D.C., Pamela Smith, the police chief of the Metropolitan Police Department, and other officials to inaugurate the RTCC and disclose the program's expansion.
Kastle and the Washington D.C. MetD.C.litan Police Department established CapitalShield in 2015 as a public-private partnership to safeguard the city and make neighborhoods safer through the use of video camera technology. Commercial property owners, institutions, and businesses participate in this initiative by granting the MPD direct access to their security cameras. This access enables the department to conduct smart video searches for recorded footage or live video feeds. This capability empowers first responders to promptly acquire the necessary situational awareness to aid members of the public in times of emergency.
Since its initial donation of more than 400 Kastle Video cameras to support the CapitalShield program's inauguration, this camera network has expanded to more than 1,000 locations throughout the city. In addition to affixing these cameras to their structures for personal use, program participants authorize the MPD to access the recorded footage in an emergency or for ongoing investigations. Kastle will contribute an additional one thousand security cameras to the RTCC as part of this second initiative phase.
Kastle has launched this program in collaboration with prominent real estate firms in Washington, D.C., sD.C..s Akridge, Hoffman Associates, and JBG Smith. Bozzuto and Red Brick have recently joined Kastle as new partners in CapitalShield. Kastle's distinct contribution to the formation of the network coalition in securing so many prominent District clients and prestigious properties was crucial.
To ensure Public Safety in our communities, we need to use the best technology tools available and engage everyone in the community to come together and be part of the solution. At Kastle, we are pleased to initiate this impactful public-private partnership that will greatly increase the number of real time cameras available to the Metropolitan Police Department for stopping and solving crimes.
Kastle Chairman, Mark Ein
