President - Coldwell Banker Island Affiliates
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of J.C. Calhoun, a remarkable leader, trailblazer, mentor, and a cherished friend to all that had the pleasure to get to know him. In 1985, he established Cayman Islands Realty where shortly afterwards he recruited partner Allen Bloomrosen. In 1997, the duo expressed interest in expanding their enterprise with a global real estate company and formed Coldwell Banker Cayman Islands Realty. This presented an opportunity to facilitate growth in the Caribbean and Western Atlantic, thus creating Coldwell Banker Island Affiliates and becoming the first Coldwell Banker International Master Franchise.
Under his stewardship, Coldwell Banker Island Affiliates flourished into a powerhouse brand, expanding into fourteen countries and territories and paved the way for a network of 15 affiliates, 26 offices, and over 300 agents, all equipped with innovative marketing tools and resources. J.C.’s dedication ensured that the franchise thrived, helping individuals across diverse cultures find their dream homes while fostering a tight-knit community among its members.
His dedication to the real estate industry played a pivotal role in founding the Cayman Islands Real Estate Brokers Association (CIREBA) in 1987. Throughout his illustrious 45-year career, J.C. served as President of CIREBA three times and remained an active member since its inception. His leadership not only shaped the growth of the real estate industry but also set a standard of excellence and integrity that continues to guide its practices today.
