In hospitality property news from the UK, KSL Capital Partners has announced their acquisition of Malmaison and Hotel du Vin. According to the news the Denver private equity firm extends their growth in the hotels sector, while the investment will help Malmaison broaden their brand as well.
CEO of Malmaison, Gary Davis, offered this comment on the move via KSL's release:
“We are delighted to welcome KSL as the new owners of the Malmaison and Hotel du Vin brands and are excited to be working with them. They have recognised the significant potential in our business. We look forward to leveraging their considerable expertise, which combined with the talent in our own senior leadership team, will further develop our leading hotel brands.”
Malmaison and Hotel du Vin current portfolio consists of some 27 hotels making it one of the UK's leading boutique brands. Richard Weissmann, a partner at KSL, had this comment to add about his firm's further move into hospitality:
