Thornton has an impressive 22 years of residential real estate experience and over 30 years of technology experience. They have a strong background in multifamily residential and retail operations, program management, and technology strategy and advisory. He possesses extensive expertise in solution design and configuration, data migration, and technology consolidation to optimize operational efficiency and enhance performance.

Prior to joining RealFoundations, Thornton held significant leadership roles at One11 Advisors, Bell Partners, MAA, and Colonial Properties. Throughout his previous positions, he was crucial in providing valuable guidance to internal and external stakeholders. He excelled at ensuring that business strategies were seamlessly integrated with technology solutions to drive success.

Thornton actively participates in the National Multifamily Housing Council, offering valuable insights at industry meetings and conferences. They have also served as a member of the NMHC Technology Committee. In 2020, Thornton received recognition as a finalist for the CIO of the Year by The Charlotte Business Journal, and in 2022, they achieved the prestigious honour of being selected to the President's Club at One11. In addition to being a U.S. veteran, Thornton has a wealth of experience serving as a Signal Corps officer with the Army National Guard for 12 years.
Thornton has a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from the University of Alabama and later pursued an MBA focusing on technology at Samford University.
