Several Realtor members of the Greater Metropolitan Association of Realtors (GMAR), a local trade association for real estate professionals, gathered at the ConCorde Inn of Clinton Township, MI, to meet with Macomb County Legislators this past Friday morning.
Legislators in attendance included Representative Derek Miller, Representative Jeff Farrington, Representative Andrea LaFontaine, Representative Ken Goike, Senator Steve Bieda, Representative Anthony Forlini, Commissioner Kathy Vosburg, Representative Peter Lucido, and Macomb Co. Clerk Carmella Sabaugh.
The GMAR is the premier Association of Realtors in Southeast Michigan, providing services and support to the real estate profession and the communities they serve. With over 6,000 members, GMAR is the largest local Realtor association in the state. GMAR provides many benefits to its members, such as access to the Realcomp MLS, over 220 quality continuing education and designation courses per year, the largest Realtor-specific store in the area, the ToolShop, Metropolitan Minute weekly newsletter and Metropolitan Realtor monthly electronic magazine.
This annual meet and greet is a GMAR staple that helps maintain the relationships between Realtors and politicians. The Legislative Breakfast affords them time and place to discuss matters pertinent to protecting home ownership and real estate in a laid back environment.
This event has consistently been well received in Macomb County and the GMAR Government Affairs Committee plans to meet this Friday to discuss the possibility of similar undertakings in Oakland and Wayne counties.
