Let’s face it, when it comes to the appearance and overall feel of your real estate website, having the right photos can make or break a user’s experience. Depending on where you live or the real estate market in which you do business, finding attractive, professional photographs and images shouldn’t be too difficult. If you live in a major market like Chicago, New York, or Los Angeles for example, opportunities to get stunning pictures for your real estate website are plentiful through stock photo and royalty free image websites.

Because of these websites, bloggers, website owners, and everyday real estate agents now have access to millions of great photos that are available for both personal and professional use and their review of Luminar 4 is that it is brilliant when it comes to enhancing images, and the best part about using stock photography websites: it’s much more affordable than hiring a professional or experienced photographer in your area.
Not long ago, only a handful of stock photography websites existed. iStockPhoto, which originally started back in 2000, was the web’s very first royalty-free stock image website, but today, dozens more are can be found with just one simple Google search. Like anything, some photography websites are much more mainstream and well-known among the general public—i.e. iStockPhoto and Shutterstock—while others are a bit more obscure. If you’re in search for real estate photos for your website, we recommend checking out these 7 stock photography websites, which in our opinion, are the best out there:
123RF® : 20,623,919 Royalty free stock photos at an affordable cost.
Depositphotos: 12,605,395 Stock photos. Founded in 2009, Depositphotos claims to have the cheapest stock photos of any website, according to their recent ad campaign on Facebook, that is.
iStockphoto®: As mentioned, iStockphoto was the original stock photography websites, so how could we leave it off our list?
Shutterstock: Also a more popular stock photography website, Shutterstock has over 25 million photographs, illustrations, vectors, and videos.
Dreamstime®: Currently offering over 17,500,000 images to choose from, has also been around since 2000 and features a variety of quality images ranging in all sorts of topics and categories.
Fotolia: Sitting at 23,081,777 royalty free stock photos, Fotolia is among the largest stock photography websites currently in business.
photoXpress®: Photoxpress is a stock photography website that I recently came across and really like. Right now, they have 20,356,064, so with that kind of inventory, it’s definitely worth checking out.
I'm a stock photographer and just set up my own website this is part of the new Symbiostock network. Not many people know of this network yet but its growing fast. It is made up of independent photographers setting up their own site and then linking them. Many of these sites have exclusive content that is only available on their symbiostock site.
Thanks
Mark
Hi Joe, nice selection, thanks a lot.
I've made a list in Simulty, a website combinator we've recently launched, so you can search for your stock photos in all these sites simultaneously and visually compare their results from one single tab: http://j.mp/12DCDes
I hope you'll like it!
