Vacation Spots that Are Great for Full-time Living Too

By Jamie Richardson | August 29, 2017

We often visit a place for either a summer or winter vacation and wish we could live there all year round. For many people that just remains a dream, but for the more adventurous ones who are willing to move to a new city or state, it can become a reality.

Here a few vacation places that double as an interesting new home base.

New York
The five boroughs of New York receive fewer mentions than Manhattan, but the majority of people who live in this vast city stay in one of these boroughs. While the tourists flock to the attractions of Manhattan with its theater district, Empire State Building, and it’s many museums, locals enjoying a slower-paced existence outside of the hustle and bustle of the big smoke.
When settling outside of the Manhattan area, the prices of real estate become far more reasonable. What costs several million dollars in Manhattan is available for six figures elsewhere. The square footage of indoor and outdoor space is much more generous and when researched intelligently, the neighborhoods feel safer for kids.

Boston
The city of Boston offers visitors plenty to feast their eyes on. Whether it’s their undying love for the Red Sox sports team, dining on oysters or the views around the city, tourists enjoy the eclectic mix and specificity that is Boston.
Looking beyond local attractions, in recent years the city has become modernized with new real estate popping up all over. Neighborhoods that previously weren’t that safe to walk around in the evening have been transformed into redeveloped places to spend time with loved ones or the family without worrying about anything.

Portland
Portland is attractive to people moving into the city. The access to water is certainly one interest with kayaking being popular here. Walking with a loved one across the cobbled stones on the streets around the Old Port is a pleasant thing to do some evenings too.
What’s noticeable for people who wish to own real estate in a place that’s not overrun with busy nightlife or raucous behavior is that Portland has a reputation for being mellow. The laid-back lifestyle and affordable real estate are creating converts out of transplanted people who’ve chosen to make the city their home.

Jackson Hole
The big resorts see summer and winter visitors’ eager to explore all that Jackson Hole has to offer. The surrounding areas offer excellent views into the distance with incredible views from isolated properties offering complete privacy. There’s also more urban living available when choosing to live closer to daily activities. While you can still enjoy the abundance of nature close by. There is a good selection of schools nearby too.

The real estate in Jackson Hole, Wyoming is affordable for the area. There are ranches, houses, and even business premises for sale for people who wish to move and setup a new business in the area.
Finding a great new place to live with affordable real estate isn’t the easiest thing to do. We hope this run-down of some of the better places to vacation and move to peak your interest.
