R&B singer/songwriter Alicia Keys has gone and listed her luxury Manhattan condo for an eyebrow-raising $17.5 million, only two years after buying the place with her husband Swizz Beatz.
According to reports in NY Daily News, the couple have come to the conclusion that the New York penthouse is just too big for them, and they are now looking for a seller for the luxury home which they bought from singer Lenny Kravitz back in 2010 for $12.5 million.
However, there could be an ulterior motive behind the sale. Mr. Beatz, real name Kasseem Dean, has recently been hit by the IRS with a $787,985 tax lien case, according to a report on the New York City Registrar.
Certainly, the proceeds from the sale of their home would do much to dispel any concerns the couple have over this bill.
Whoever decides to stump up the cash and buy Alicia Key’s home will be getting themselves one of the most spectacular views of Manhattan’s skyline, thanks to the property’s 3,000 sq. ft. terrace. Aside from the view, the home boasts 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a media/library room, a floating staircase connecting the living room with fireplace, a gourmet kitchen and a glass solarium dining area.
Meanwhile, the master bedroom is truly that – how many other rooms come with a private spa and terrace overlooking Manhattan?
Alicia Keys will no doubt be looking for a swift sale in the manner of Oprah Winfrey, who recently sold her own home for some $7.9 million this week, just three months are listing the property.
