Real estate advisory firm Athena Real Estate has announced the acquisition of Ohrt's Mobile Village, an 80-site 55+ hybrid mobile home and RV park in Sebring, Florida. This is Athena's 5th such acquisition in recent months, the firm acquired nearby Morningside RV Estates back in December of 2012.
According to their news, the property was acquired through an Athena affiliate that caters to retirees. Morningside RV Estates is a 400-site RV park in Pasco County, and this latest acquisition is a site of just 80 places according to the company news.
CEO Richard J. O'Brien, offered his comment on the acquisition:
"We are extremely pleased to acquire Ohrt's Mobile Village. This is a wonderful 55+ community with a neighborhood feel with a strong pride of ownership. The property has an attractive location for retirees on U.S. Highway 27 conveniently located across from the Lakeshore Mall and in walking distance to Lake Jackson. Athena Real Estate is seeking to grow its portfolio through East Coast Mobile Home and RV Park acquisitions with an emphasis on the Sunbelt. Retirement communities are targeted in light of the favorable demographic trends."
Just North and East of Tampa, and West of Orlando, this part of rural Florida is home to several such RV and retirement communities. Just off old Highway 301, small towns like Dade City were once hot spots along the North South vacationer's path toward Sarasota and other Eastern Florida beaches.
