The partnership is called Best Buy Smart Home powered by Vivint. and to manage devices.
It is expected to be rolled out nationwide at the beginning of summer enabling customers to visit one of more than 400 Best Buy locations where they will be able to have a consultation with a smart home expert, design a comprehensive system and receive professional installation and monitoring. This could happen within as little as a day. Customers will be guided by in-store experts and can select from a choice of smart home products from Vivint and from other partners.
Devices available will include lights, thermostats, smart locks, and cameras. Customers can then choose whether to take advantage of a range of support plans available that include 30-day video storage and 24/7 professional monitoring with emergency response. There’s also the option to choose a no contract service plan. Vivint’s smart home platform will work with a number of voice assistance that includes Google Home and Amazon Echo so users will be able to control their smart home devices by voice.
