Digital real estate listings company Compass is making its homes stand out with a new breed of high-tech and “iconic” for sale signs.
The new lollipop-shaped for sale signs are both stylish and elegant, and feature an LED light outer ring. Not only do they look cool but they also display lots of information about the property in the center of the sign, including the agent’s contact details. Compass says its glowing, animated for sale sign display is meant to grab more attention from passersby, though it will charge agents $1,000 each per sign.
The signs also sport a QR code that passersby can use to download the Compass app, where they’ll find even more info on the listing. Compass says it’s teaming up with the navigation app Waze, owned by Google, to highlight the locations of its signs on their maps.
“The first thing I want to see is agents happy because sellers are saying, ‘That made my house stand out,’” Compass COO Maëlle Gavet told Fast Company.
Gavet also thinks the signs make it easier for agents to manage their inventory of for sale signs, as their digital nature makes it easy to adjust the listing information as needed.
“Agents don’t need to go back to the sign to change the wording,” she explained.
Compass isn’t finished with its for sale sign redesigns yet however. The company intends to make its signs fully digital so they can be updated in real-time. It also wants to add augmented reality functions to the signs, so passersby could for example visualize the home painted in a different color, or view neighborhood data.
