Former Century 21 CEO Nick Bailey rejoins RE/MAX

By Mike Wheatley | September 5, 2019

Former president and CEO of Century 21 Real Estate Nick Bailey is rejoining RE/MAX as its chief customer officer, a position where he’ll be tasked with overseeing new business growth, brokerage support, franchise sales, professional development, international expansion and industry relations.

Bailey had previously spent more than a decade at the RE/MAX World Headquarters during a 23 year career in the real estate industry. Previously at RE/MAX he led the growth and development of several regional operations in the U.S. Bailey has also served as a vice president at Trulia and Zillow, helping those companies to expand their products and services and create bigger brand awareness.

“If anyone can help our brokers/owners cut through the noise of a changing industry, it’s Nick Bailey,” said Adam Contos, CEO of RE/MAX. Bailey will “act as a passionate advocate for the entrepreneurs who are the backbone of our global network. This hire aligns with our values and fortifies our customer-obsessed culture. We’ve landed one of the best minds in the industry to help deliver even more to our brokers and agents.”

Bailey’s most recently served as CEO of Century 21 from August 2017 to March 2019. Bailey stepped down from that role in order to move back to Colorado and spend more time with his family. He added that he had no intention at the time of rejoining RE/MAX, which is headquartered in Colorado.

“The industry is cluttered with distractions that can quickly knock agents and brokers off their game,” Bailey said. “Throughout my career, I’ve been an agent, a broker, a franchiser, and a leader of a tech company focused on the consumer—I’ve been on all sides of the transaction. My goal is to use my unique skill set to help our network of highly productive entrepreneurs grow their businesses, find success, and in turn, deliver a consistent and elevated experience to home buyers and sellers long into the future.”
