Renowned real estate franchise Keller Williams has massively expanded its workforce, announcing that it surpassed 139,000 associates in quarter one of this year. All in all, its total number of agents increased by a stunning 36 percent compared to the same period one year ago.
Indeed, March saw Keller Williams add more net agents than in any other month in the history of the franchise.
In addition, Keller Williams' agents are expanding their market share by carefully building momentum even during the quiet fall and winter months, when real estate activity traditionally declines, John Davis, President of Keller Williams, said in a statement that coincided with the release of its first quarter results.
“They’re turning winter into summer and creating new opportunities for themselves and their families,” Davis said.
For the first quarter, Keller Williams added 4,989 new agents to its various franchises. As such, Keller Williams officials now believe that theirs is the largest real estate franchise in the world by number of agents.
The first quarter was also a good one from a financial perspective. Keller Williams' agents closed a total of 182,676 transactions during the quarter, representing a 19 percent increase from one year ago. Those transactions amounted to $49.1 billion in sales volume, which is a 24 percent increase from a year ago.
“With record listings taken and contracts written, we’re confident our best days are to come,” insisted Chris Heller, CEO of Keller Williams.
