Boost your media presence:

Speaking to Forbes.com, Friedman explains that those wanting to make a name for themselves make sure they're heard, both in traditional media and on social media. She recommends using sites like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn to make sure you're voice is head. But she also says not to ignore traditional newspapers and TV stations.

“Make yourself available for interviews with newspapers, magazines, TV stations, and talk radio,” Friedman said. “Media appearances act as third-party endorsements, casting you as an authority in your field. This type of PR and marketing also needs constant cultivation. If you were quoted in a newspaper article last year, you’re literally last year’s news.”

Be passionate:

According to Freidman this is the best way to show people that you really care about what you're doing, and in the real estate industry it's hugely important that people believe in you.

“If you convey the passion you feel for what you do, that goes a long way to stimulate interest in both your personal brand and corporate brand at the same time,” Friedman told Forbes.com “Ask yourself: What is it I’m most passionate about and how does that relate to my brand?” Use that as the basis of forming your brand identity.

Build a professional website:

In many cases your website is the first impression people will have of you, and first impressions go a long way!

Freidman reminds us that your website is one of the "best places to control your brand's image," adding that it's one of the first things people will check when they're trying to learn more about you, whether you're a business person, author, surgeon, real estate agent or whatever.

"What they find influences how they perceive your company in every way," Friedman said.
