The Western Pennsylvania Real Estate Investor’s Association is a club of men and women who invest in real estate and related ventures, in and around the Pittsburgh, PA real estate market. One of the core values of the club is the desire to learn the most powerful marketing techniques for use in today’s real estate market.
Members of the club are constantly on the lookout for the best educators, and each year they select just one presenter or guru who has given the best educational class to the group in a given category. This year the board of directors were able to make a unanimous decision to name Ms. Robyn Thompson as the recipient for the Teaching Excellence Award.
Robyn Thompson was part of the Pittsburgh Financial Freedom Series presented by WPREIA at the Sheraton Station Square Hotel. She presented an eight hour block of instruction on the ins and outs of how to rehab single family houses for profit. Robyn has a unique perspective and a huge amount of credibility in this subject as she has renovated over 150 houses in her career. There are many so-called gurus who will stand up on stage to talk about how to make money without being able to back up the information given, but Robyn is the real deal. Many of her students have gone on to become successful educators in their own right.
Robyn teaches classes all over the United States and in Canada, and also offers a series of home study courses as well as several intensive multi-day “boot camps.” Robyn earned this award through her blend of approachability and common sense, as she is able to communicate information in a way that is very easy to understand, and which is detailed enough to be useful. She originally began working in real estate as she was fired from her corporate job, and it is something that has made her very wealthy. Her success inspired her to begin teaching others how to make money in the same way she did, one house at a time. She produces a monthly newsletter that is a well-regarded educational product that teaches both novice and experienced investors alike in the art of how to rehab a home for profit. Since becoming successful Robyn has turned her attention towards charitable pursuits such as helping other women in business and funding an orphanage in Haiti.
