Virtual staging app specialist roOomy is teaming up with Climb Real Estate to show off a proof of concept involving its augmented reality and virtual reality technology and Tango, a new AR computing platform developed and authored by Google. The partnership will see roOomy's AR/VR staging app provide Climb customers with an immersive home buying experience for a select number of listings that can be seen on Tango-enabled mobile devices.
Climb and roOomy have high hopes for the partnership, because both companies believe that one of the biggest hurdles in home buying is that 90% of consumers do not have the ability to visualize a space. The roOomy platform empowers consumers to make more informed purchase decisions on homes and home furnishings by offering the ultimate interior design experience and by bringing home furnishings to life. The technology allows users to mix real time, live views of interiors with newly designed interiors featuring virtual furnishings products. With a browse-able catalog of 100,000 high quality 3D products from 35 leading home furnishings retailers, roOomy provides inspiration to users looking to create new design ideas and allows them to switch between AR and VR views for a seamless experience.
Climb is an innovator within the real estate brokerage industry, well known for its distinctively innovative brand and business model, which helps reinvent the traditional home buying and selling experience. Climb is part of Realogy Brokerage Group, also owns well-known brands such as Sotheby’s, Coldwell Banker and Corcoran, and ranks among San Francisco’s top 10 residential real estate brokerages. Following the completion of a successful POC period, the capabilities of roOomy’s AR/VR staging app will be rolled out to a broader group of real estate agents at Climb to up-level the experience of purchasing a new home for a larger number of consumers.
The new app, roOomy Reality, will be available in the Google Play Store later this month.
“Homes that are well-staged sell faster and for more money as consumers struggle with fully visualizing a space’s potential," said Pieter Aarts, CEO and Co-Founder of roOomy. “roOomy is eliminating this problem with its AR/VR app by allowing shoppers to easily experience how interior design styles and home furnishing products will look room to room. The introduction of this technology into real estate has huge potential to transform the buying and selling process for real estate agents and consumers.”
“roOomy’s platform powered by Tango utilizing mobile devices will be an invaluable tool for our agents, buyers and sellers alike,” commented Mark Choey, CTO and Co-Founder of Climb. “We are excited to offer home buyers an experience that will help them feel more confident in their big purchases, while providing our agents with a way to better showcase their properties.”
