Founded in 1855, Savills is a global real estate services provider with a network of more than 39,000 people in over 600 offices spread throughout the Americas, Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East. Headquartered in London, Savills advises corporate, institutional, and private clients wanting to buy, lease, develop, or invest in the value of residential and commercial property in the world’s key markets.

Savills was established by Alfred Savill (1829–1905). The company today provides consulting services and advice for valuation, building consultancy, project management, engineering & sustainability consultancy, environmental consultancy, landlord and tenant, planning, strategic projects, and research across the spectrum of real estate interests.

Recent News 

In 2021, Savills Group’s revenue amounted to  £2,147 billion, or a +23% increase over the previous year. Key drives included Global Transactional Advisory revenues being up 34%, which led to a more than 400% underlying profit, or £97.6 million. Other highlights included commercial transitions being up by 31%, with residential deals growing by 11% yoy. Savills expects further record performance driven by the recovery in the transactional market.

In February 2022, Savills announced its subsidiary, Grosvenor Hill Ventures, acquiring tenant and workplace experience platform Cureoscity. According to this news, Cureoscity will continue to operate as an independent business, led by existing CEO Chris Coleman-Brown and COO Aimee Rootes. The company will now benefit from the investment of Grosvenor Hill Ventures and collaboration with the wider Savills group.  

Leadership Profiles

The Chairman of Savills is Nicholas Ferguson CBE. Ferguson has held a number of leadership roles in the private equity and investment sectors. He was co-founder of Schroder Ventures and Chairman of SVG Capital plc. He is also the Chairman of African Logistical Properties and Chairman and founder of The Kilfinan Group. It is through the Kilfinan Trust, which he founded, that Ferguson is widely known for his philanthropy. He expressed his philosophy on this with: 

“If you want the world to be a better place, then do something about it. No government in the world has the resources to do all that is needed. Charitable giving is fundamental to a healthy society.”
