Taylor Morrison of Texas and Toll Brothers, have purchased more than 2,100 acres of land in Leander, Texas, from Texas-based The Lookout Group. The land is situated adjacent to Crystal Falls, and the new master-planned community will be named Travisso. It is being brought to market through a partnership between Taylor Morrison and Toll Brothers by summer next year.
When it is finished Travisson will include more than 2,000 home sites of various sizes that will be marketed to appeal to a wide array of consumer groups. The community will include 355 acres of open space, a trail system, a 58 acre regional Park, 42 acres of commercial land and opportunities for future Leander ISD schools.
According to Austin division president, Tim Towell, this purchase has come at just the right time for Taylor Morrison as Leander's population has increased by 250% since 2000. Towell said "As the demand for quality communities continues to grow, we're confident that Travisso will offer Austin homebuyers the type of community they long for in Austin: highly rated schools, quality homes, ease of access to work and hill country views."
The announcement of this new community officially marks the reentry into the Austin market by the Toll Brothers. Robert G Paul, Toll Brothers division president said "We are very excited about bringing the Toll Brothers (back to Austin, Texas. Travisso embodies all of the elements we look for in a new home community: a great location, excellent schools, close proximity to employment centers and all of the recreational options offered by living in the Texas hill country."
Bill Hinkley, managing partner of The Lookout Group said "We are 100% confident that the Taylor Morrison/Toll Brothers partnership will deliver a first-class community. This deal will allow The Lookout Group to spend more time focused on the commercial and custom home offerings we have in Crystal Falls."
Cedar Park Regional Medical Center is less than ten miles from Travisso, and there are another three major hospitals within twenty miles of the community. The largest employer in Austin is Dell, and it is just minutes away, while downtown Austin is easily accessed via Capitol Metro’s new commuter rail station in Leander.
