When Is The Right Time to Hire a Real Estate Assistant



If you are a real estate agent there is no doubt you are wearing many different hats. Your job as a real estate agent is to market the homes you list, find buyers to buy other homes, all while being available to your clients to answer their questions and needs. Behind the scenes your paperwork pile is likely growing into a mountain and you are up late nights trying to catch up. If this sounds like you, it is the right time to hire an assistant.

Taking the plunge to hire admin support can be very overwhelming initially, but in the long run it will keep you organized and will lighten your work load. This will give you the time needed to prospect and grow your business, keeping you in front of potential clients. Just think how much more productive you will become with all your extra free time.

First start with the smaller tasks let your assistant file your paperwork and submit the required paperwork to the office. Then move on to listing maintenance, prepping paperwork and loading listings onto your local MLS (Multiple Listing Service). Have your assistant take over all your listing advertising, ordering feature sheets, photos etc. Your assistant can put on lock boxes, adhere sold stickers to signs, take off lock boxes, all the small tasks suddenly are off your plate and you have the crucial time to grow your business.

In addition to the above your assistant can take over your social media tasks. Social media should never loose your personal voice completely, it is important that she only does a percentage of your social media management.

It does take time to get into perfect working harmony with your new real estate assistant but soon you will be finishing each other’s sentences and you will be so relieved with the time you will save.

Don’t think that you have enough workload for a full time assistant? There are options, you could share an assistant with another agent in your office, and there is always someone that could use a part time assistant. Or you could hire a virtual assistant that is only paid when you need them. Whatever you decide, you will be happy you did!
