HomeVestors has named Mark Kentner vice president of operations for the Dallas-based “We Buy Ugly Houses®” company, which is America’s number one home buyer and the third fastest-growing franchise in America.
Kentner has been with HomeVestors for nearly five years, previously serving as the company’s director of operations with responsibility for a team of managers and associates focused on franchise lead management, onboarding, and support. Prior to this role, Kentner was a regional business developer for HomeVestors, providing training and support for franchisees to ensure their ongoing success.
“Mark was a natural choice for this position that will broaden the scope of the achievements he’s made working to both develop the franchises that are already part of our brand, as well as those interested in joining our brand,” said David Hicks, CEO of HomeVestors. “Anyone can hang a banner and offer a real estate investing seminar, but we are unique in that we train and mentor our franchises, back them with the valuable HomeVestors® and We Buy Ugly Houses® national brands, and help generate distressed property leads for them. Mark has and will continue to be an important part of that offering.”
Kentner has over 20 years of experience in development and implementation of innovative processes and effective teams. Before joining HomeVestors, he served as director of marketing and as a member of the board of directors for Hearts of Love Ministry. In addition to previously having his own marketing consultancy, Kentner has also held various communications, sales and marketing positions with home and home services companies like Factory Flooring and Design; Nationwide Custom Homes; White Glove Moving, Storage and Delivery; Passage Island Homes; and Pack It In, Inc.
HomeVestors has purchased more than 95,000 houses since it began franchising in 1996. The houses are deemed “ugly” in advertisements, with the term applying not just to the condition, but also to the ugly situations sellers often find themselves in. Houses purchased by HomeVestors’ more than 1,000 independently owned and operated franchisees are generally rehabbed, then sold or held as investment properties, helping raise real estate values in the markets served and drive community revitalization.
With franchises now operating in 168 markets nationwide, HomeVestors has been nationally recognized and ranked several years running with top industry sources like the Inc. 5000, Entrepreneur Magazine, Franchise Business Review, and Franchise Times.
