Reasons to Take Advantage of Guest Blogging Opportunities

As a real estate agent, you don’t need me to tell you how hectic your schedule can get. With the constant phone calls, home showings, open houses, and managing all your client needs, adding anything else to the “to-do” list might seem unlikely at this point.

But one aspect of web marketing that may be worth taking a closer look at is the opportunity to be a guest blogger. Believe it or not, many real estate-related websites out there offer agents and other real estate professionals the opportunity to discuss and submit articles on what’s happening with the local real estate market and their real estate business in particular. In other words, these websites are offering you the opportunity to take advantage of FREE ADVERTISING.

What’s the catch? Well, of course, there’s always the time factor. Submitting a quality article or blog post that will represent you well is going to take a bit of time; but if the website you’re contributing to is a quality site with lots of relevant traffic, is it worth this extra time and effort? In my opinion, absolutely it is.

The other main issue with contributing to various real estate websites and becoming a guest blogging is actually finding websites that not only qualify, but sites that are worth being a guest blogger. The last thing you want to do is be associated with an under-performing or controversial real estate outlet.

Obviously, every market is different; larger markets such as Chicago, New York, or Los Angeles will have many more opportunities/websites for you to submit your posts to; but even smaller markets will most likely have a local real estate news website that will suffice. And then of course, there are popular national outlets such as good ‘ol RealtyBizNews.

And if you find a real estate website that doesn’t specifically say if they publish guest blogs, send a quick e-mail and ask. It can’t hurt, right? Unless it’s direct competition, there’s a great chance they’ll allow guest submissions and articles as long its unique/quality content. From their perspective, they get fresh, quality content they can post to their website (which helps with SEO) and it’s recognition/free advertising for you and your real estate business.

To me, this sounds like a ‘win’ for everybody. So spend a little extra time and seek out more guest blogging opportunities and start getting more recognition for your real estate services today.
