Rihanna dumps Beverly Hills mansion

Not long after she announced she was suing the previous owners of her multi-million dollar Beverly Hills mansion, Rihanna has now sold the property – at almost $2million less than she paid for the home in 2010.

The 23-year old pop diva was reported to have sold her Beverly Hills residence for just $5 million by the L.A. Times, a significantly lower sum than the $6.9 million she splashed out just over 18 months ago. Rihanna explained the sale by saying that she had barely had any time to live there, due to her hectic schedule.

Rihanna was previously said to be unhappy with the home, which was damaged by water following a rainstorm last year, forcing her to sell the property for less. The star has since launched a lawsuit against the real estate firm which sold the property to her in a bid to recoup some of the money she has lost, claiming that they never disclosed the property’s defects before the sale.

The listing noted that the property was a “major fixer”, suffering from extensive damage to the roof, doors, windows and balconies, caused by water intrusion during the rainstorm.

Aside from the water damage, the property is still a fairly neat one. With 8,520 sq. ft. of living space, including 10 bathrooms, a swimming pool and more than ¾ of an acre of land, the singer managed to secure a higher price than the original $4.5 million she was asking for as four bidders were interested in the property.

Rihanna hasn’t yet revealed if she will be in the market for a new home to replace the old one, so watch this space.
