According to the National Association of Realtors' 2015 Member Safety Report, 40% of real estate professionals "experienced a situation that made them fear for their personal safety or safety of their personal information." The sources of fear: open houses, vacant homes, unlocked or unsecured properties, and remote locations.

"Real estate agents are all too frequently placed in vulnerable situations. If there is a way to protect them in these exposed settings, then that is our mission. We want to give agents the ability to call for help at a moment's notice in a discreet and efficient manner. As 94% of Realtors use smartphones for business purposes, the tool they need is already in their hands. Now we've adapted it to enhance their safety with Realy Safe," said Manna Justin, CEO Realy and Realy Safe.

In recent months, at least two assaults were reported by female agents in Arizona. These events, plus the grievous incidents regarding Beverly Carter of Scott, Arkansas this fall, and Ashley Oakland of West Des Moines, Iowa in 2011, have reminded us of the dangers faced by real estate professionals on a daily basis, and highlight the need for action toward advanced solutions for agent safety.

Concerned by these reports, the Realy team has developed Realy Safe, a one-touch alert and tracking app that sends "Help" and "Safe" messages to Emergency Contacts via text message and email alerts. Notifications include the time at which the alert was activated, as well as a map of current user locations per the device's GPS function. The app is available for real estate professionals to download at no cost.

Every agent who uses Realy Safe also automatically receives a complimentary profile on Realy's mobile and online platform for home and agent discovery by prospective homebuyers. Agent profiles provide a direct contact function which allows homebuyers to call or email agents with listing inquiries directly from their mobile phones. Other profile features include social media links, unlimited Exclusive Listings, and direct synchronization to MLS listing feeds.

The people behind Realy take the safety, well being and success of real estate professionals seriously. Their goal is to create innovative tools for improving agent and broker safety, while providing advanced mobile solutions that will strengthen their businesses.
